Anonymous Confession Sent To Me: I miss being alone.

“Hi Lea,

I love my partner so much… but lately I’ve been missing being alone.

Not because I want another relationship.
Not because I want to leave.

I think I’m just emotionally exhausted.

Sometimes I miss silence.
I miss uninterrupted thoughts.
I miss not constantly being needed by someone.

Life feels like endless responsibilities lately:
work,
kids,
money stress,
emotional pressure,
survival mode.

We barely even talk romantically anymore unless it’s about bills or schedules.

I feel guilty admitting this because my partner is genuinely a good person.

But I miss feeling like myself.
I miss freedom.
I miss peace.
I miss breathing emotionally.

Please tell me I’m not alone in feeling like this.”

My Response:

Many people silently confuse emotional exhaustion with falling out of love. Wanting alone time or emotional space does not automatically mean a relationship is failing. Stress, parenting, burnout, and financial pressure can deeply affect connection and emotional energy. Healthy love still requires individuality, rest, and self-connection.

What are your thoughts?
